PIRE plays a key leadership role in the Health Resources and Services Administration’s Rural Communities Opioid Response Program Behavioral Health Support (RCORP‑BHS) Initiative. Through this multi year effort, PIRE supports rural communities in strengthening access to high quality, integrated substance use disorder and behavioral health services.
As a member of the COP‑RCORP Facilitation Team, PIRE helps convene and lead a community of practice that supports planning, implementation, and sustainability of evidence‑based, trauma‑informed behavioral health strategies. The project focuses on addressing systems level barriers to care, building the capacity of rural behavioral health providers and community consortia, and advancing approaches that respond to social determinants of health.
PIRE provides training, technical assistance, data collection, evaluation support, and coordination across sites to ensure communities are equipped to implement effective, sustainable solutions. Together, these efforts strengthen rural behavioral health systems and improve outcomes for individuals and families affected by substance use and behavioral health challenges.
