PIRE staff are conducting the local evaluation of the WATCH Project. The WATCH project provides long-term TANF and cash assistance individuals with training opportunities to become CNAs, direct care workers, pharmacy technicians, phlebotomists, LPNs, and RNs in the north central Pennsylvania area. In addition, this project has built a healthcare career ladder that is designed to help participants reach self-sufficiency. The local evaluation involves collecting formative and summative data from project participants and area healthcare employers through multi-mode, multi-wave surveys, along with focus groups and semi-structured interviews. The local evaluation also has conducted return on investment analyses and has analyzed two-gen data to determine multi-generational impacts of the WATCH project on participants and their families.
