PIRE assessed the impact of Excellence Academy, a pre-kindergarten teacher training program, on child developmental outcomes, teacher advancement and family engagement. The evaluation includes ITERS-R and ECERS-3 yearly classroom observations to assess the quality of the classroom environment, CLASS observations to assess the quality of the teacher/ child interactions and a sequential cohort analysis of kindergarten readiness scores (Brigance), academic (Reading and Math) and behavioral indicators (suspension, absenteeism and behavioral referrals) of preschool graduates when compared matched peers.
