Rachel Bauer is responsible for developing and formatting, and programming online data collection instruments, managing and cleaning data, and quantitative data analysis in both SPSS and R. Other responsibilities include programming a Return-on-Investment Calculator using HTML, a real-time R/Shiny survey reporting data dashboard, and an Audio-Computer Assisted Self-Interview (ACASI) survey using Javascript/CSS/HTML on iPads. Rachel is also responsible for project deliverables, and preparing manuscripts, proposals, and conference presentations. Additionally, she has training and experience in qualitative analysis.
Rachel is an active PIRE’s Data Dashboarding Workgroup member and has earned her Front-end Web Development, Python, JavaScript, and R certifications.
Rachel earned both her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Master of Arts in Criminology from Western Kentucky University. Being a retired police officer also gives her first-hand knowledge of law enforcement and the criminal justice system.
