Ms. Bauer is responsible for assisting in web searches and literature reviews, developing and formatting data collection instruments, programming data collection instruments into an online platform, collecting data and maintaining data files, tracking data collection efforts, transcribing audio files, performing data entry, data cleaning, and data management in preparation for analyses. Rachel has experience in conducting analysis with both qualitative and quantitative data.

Ms. Bauer has assisted in the qualitative analysis of multiple Veteran Health Administration’s (VHA) Whole Health Courses which included a total of 77 interviews and 785 surveys. She has also led the qualitative analysis for VHA’s Mental Health Course, National Center for Families Learning Say and Play Media Campaign focus group, and Norton Hospital Focus Groups with mothers who were diagnosed with HCV and their healthcare experiences. She has also assisted in the state-wide programming and implementation of reporting documents for sub-grantees of the Alabama Block Grant in addition to leading technical assistance for providers statewide.

She is also responsible for drafting and finalizing project deliverables, preparing and organizing manuscripts, proposals, bibliographies, and other project materials. Ms. Bauer earned both her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Master of Arts in Criminology from Western Kentucky University. Ms. Bauer is also currently enrolled in Code Louisville having earned her Front-end Web Development certification (which includes training and experience in HTML, CSS and JavaScript) and Python certification. She is currently pursuing additional computer programming certifications for JavaScript and SQL. Ms. Bauer is also a retired police officer which provides her with first-hand knowledge in law enforcement and the criminal justice system.
